After the announcement of the sweetest Android 4.4 Kitkat version by Google, all the users are eagerly waiting for the official update for their specific devices. But, the official update is still on hold, while Custom ROMs are made available for the various devices. We have already seen the Android 4.4 Kitkat update for the Nexus devices, LG Optimus G, Sony Xperia Z, HTC One and Motorola Defy and Defy+. Today, we are adding one more device to the list, i.e., HTC One X+. I hope this device is owned by most of the users and now their wait is over to get the Android 4.4 Kitkat update. Obviously, the update is unofficial, while there is no news about the official update from the HTC. So, now one can grab this update by installing Pure AOSP ROM on HTC One X+.
As this is the unofficial update, so you have to root HTC One X+ for installing the update. If you have rooted your HTC One X+ then go on following the post. However, this is the Stable build so might face some bugs on your device. In this article, we will give you the step-by-step guide for installing Pure AOSP ROM on HTC One X+. Before going through the procedure, please make sure that you have taken the complete backup of your current ROM to be on a safe side.
Things To Be Done:
- Be ready with your Computer running on Windows OS
- Original USB data cable.
- The device USB drivers must be installed on your PC.
- The device’s battery must be charged up to 80% levels.
- Ensure that you have enabled the USB debugging.
- Your device must have an root access.
- CWM Recovery must be installed for flashing the ROM.
- The device bootloader must be unlocked and S-Off also.
- Pure AOSP ROM
Steps To Install AOSP ROM on HTC One X+
Step 1: Download ROM and Gapps from the above link and copy it into an internal storage on your device.
Step 2: Switch off your phone and boot into Recovery mode by “pressing and holding Volume Down + Power button” and then select “Recovery“. In the Recovery mode, use the Volume keys to move up/down and the Power key to select a highlighted item.
Step 3: Now, perform a full data wipe by selecting “wipe data/factory reset” and “wipe cache partition” and then go to “advanced options in CWM Recovery” from there select “wipe Dalvik Cache“.
Step 4: Now, go to the main menu choose “install zip from SD card” > Select ROM (Which you have downloaded and placed in internal storage) > give “Yes” for confirmation. The process will take 3-5 minutes to install the ROM so wait for the whole process to complete.
Step 5: Repeat the above step again and now select “Google Apps” instead of ROM zip file.
Step 6: Finally, go back to the main menu and select “reboot system” now. The phone will take 10-15 minutes to start and initialize all the services & apps because this is the first time you are starting a phone.
