How to Update the Oppo Find 5 to Lollipop

The Oppo Find 5 is the first device that was launched by the Chinese OEM OPPO some 2 years back. Although it came  packing some excellent hardware, including some of the best speakers on any phone; that rival even the HTC One series, they are badly lacking in one of the key components of an over all smartphone experience. That is the software side of things. Now Colour OS is not a bad OS at all but despite multiple efforts on the part of the OEM, the OS hasn’t been able to reach the heights of  MIUI. Add to that, the fact that it is now running an outdated version of Android, the overall software side of things is just a mess. This is where the XDA Developers community come in Because of the incredible hardware specs of the time, many devs picked up a copy of the Find 5 themselves and thus this phone has an avid development community. So it would come as no surprise that when there was a lack of communication from Oppo about a future update to Lollipop, the development community would stand up to the task. And that they have; with CyanogenMod 12 providing the Find 5 with official Lollipop nightlies for some AOSP goodness.
