Released in April 2014, the Doodle 3 was one of those neither here nor there sort of phones that Micromax seems to be so keen on throwing on it’s customers. Equipped with a gigantic 6 inch screen, this device fails to deliver in performance as might be expected from a phablet. However the cheap price may have allured quite a few multimedia lovers to get a hold of the Doodle 3. Now if you’re one such person we have the root methods for your device. Now you may wonder why you’d even consider rooting your device since it will void your warranty. Well. for starters it is to sae your internal storage from Micromax and your cellular data too.(For more info on how micromax is stealing your data read here)
- Your mobile must be more than 80% charged
- The ability to follow instructions!
- The framaroot apk. You can download it from this link
- Mobile Uncle tools from the Google Playstore. Download it from here.
- The ClockworkMod recovery file. Download the recovery image by clicking here.
But before we begin a few warning words. Rooting an Android phone voids it’s warranty. We here at www.androidrooting.org take no responsibility for your device if it is anyhow damaged in the process described below.
With that said, let’s get this show on the road,
We will enable the ability to install 3rd party apps apart from the play store. This is done because the framaroot apk is not available in the Playstore and we need it to root the device. We go into Settings>Security>Device Administration>Unknown Sources. Click on it once to enable it.
Install the previously downloaded framaroot app on the phone. You can find the icon in the app drawer once installation has been completed.
Open the app and scroll down to the Barahir option. Click on it.
Once rooting is successful, restart your device.
Once you’re done with that we move onto the next step that is, installing the Mobile Uncle tools
Once installed, open the app and scroll down to update recovery and click on it.
The app will search for the previously downloaded recovery file and install it.
And that’s it you’re all done. Congratulations on having rooted and set up a custom recovery on your Canvas Doodle 3. A whole world of ROMs now await you. If you have any questions, queries or thoughts, please leave them in the comment section below. We’d love to help you out!
